We urge you to pause all U.S. funding of Canadian mines until Canada and British Columbia clean up their pollution-prone mining practices on rivers flowing into Alaska — and enforceable protections established by impacted communities, Tribes, and First Nations are implemented.

For the last two years, communities and Tribes in Southeast Alaska have called for a temporary pause to all new B.C. mine permits and a permanent ban on mine waste dams in AK-BC transboundary rivers. Now is the time for your administration to act.

The wild rivers that feed our cultures, economies, biodiversity, and bellies are in trouble. Together, we can help ensure that some of the world's last great wild salmon rivers remain productive for years.
