Governor Jared Polis has made promises to put public health and climate before polluters in Colorado.
Progress has been made. In 2019, the Colorado legislature passed Senate Bill 181 (SB181-2019) to set the stage for state agencies to protect the public as a first consideration. Then in June 2021, the governor signed HB 1266 which commits the state to achieving 60% reductions in oil and gas pollution by 2030, in line with the state’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions Roadmap.
Unfortunately:
For the sake of communities’ health and the climate, we’re calling on Governor Polis to take action now to demand more of oil and gas polluters and the state agencies whose mission is to protect Coloradans from polluters’ harms. Join us by taking action below!
